The Portland Hospital pays vigorous attention to the safety and security of our patients and staff. Staff and Doctors of the hospital are issued with personal electronic security tags to allow access to the hospital.
All visitors must register at the Front Reception Desk, at every visit.
Additionally, a baby tagging system is in operation to provide greater security in the care of our babies. Video cameras are also placed in strategic areas to allow monitoring and recording of movements within the hospital. |

A comprehensive range Fetal Medicine Services is available in addition to routine X-Ray and ultrasound examination. Ultrasound plays an important part in antenatal care. One of the most exciting parts of pregnancy is the early ultrasound scan, when for the first time you see your baby growing inside you, and watch the beating of it's tiny heart.
We do everything we can to ensure that the birth of your baby is a happy, safe and comfortable experience. We are proud to be described by women as "the baby hospital in London". Our paediatric unit cares for babies, toddlers and children through to young teenagers. Our philosphy is to provide a safe, happy atmosphere. All our staff are dedicated to the care of children, and it shows. The nurses wear brightly coloured cloths, we provide a special play room and play therapist and once the child has gone home, We stay intouch through our Portly Panda Club, which is great fun. Each Christmas the club party with a surprise visit by Portly Panda is a happy opportunity how our young patients are progressing.
The Treatment offered by The Portland Fertility Unit is designed specifically for each individual couple. We offer IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation), GIFT (Gamete Intra Fallopian Transfer), ICSI (Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection) and other assisted conception techniques to couples who are finding it difficult to conceive. While success from these techniques is by no means guaranteed, we have a record of which we are proud, and a host of letters and photographs from happy parents.
Minimal access surgery is another fast developing speciality. We are working alongside the surgeons to provide the latest, most up to date facilities in this area. We are proud to provide dedicated facilities for gunaecological patients.
